Pan size for "sticky buns"?

Becky's sticky buns were excellent and gobbled up by all. But I can't see how
you'd do them in a 15 X 9 pan. You have only 9 pieces after cutting the roll. I
used a 9 X 9 and the results were excellent. Please clarify.
