Pressure cooker part

I have a Sears pressure cooker which was purchased in early 70s. Someone told me that part is called a "pressure cock". I have a Presto pressure cooker pan and the part is identical on both pressure cooker and pan. Try locating a Presto dealer and using that one. Hope this is of help.
