re: Caramel for Turtles/Deviled Egg 'Island'

Misc.

I will let you know how it turns out. When you described cutting the carmel into strips I got the Idea of creating different things ie. chocolate bars . For example coat a wafer cookie with the carmel/pecan mixture and then cover the entire thing with chocolate. I love to create when I cook. An example is when serving deviled eggs you use a large pan or dish with slightly raised edges and fill it with blue gelatin whipped if possible (you will see what I mean in a minute). Then take a very large white potato and cut the top and bottom 1/3 off. Then take 2 carrots and cut the top off and cross cut small slits in the carrot and take toothpicks and attach the carrots to the potato slices. One carrot on each potato slice and the toothpick should come from the bottom of the potato slice into the center of the carrot so it doesn't show. Then take a green pepper a cut in half with a serated cut ie looks like z's on their sides. Clean the pepper halves out and one goes on the top of each carrot. Now you have two desert islands out in the ocean and you set the deviled eggs on the blue gelatin and they are boats in the ocean and if you could whip the gelatin to make it look like waves you can add whatever ( I use icing sugar to make whitecaps. Anyway it gives you an idea of some of the wierd stuff I do. It makes entertaing fun. Anyway I have bored you enough. I will let you know how the turtles turn out and again thanks for the help.
