Re flour - Pillsbury and others ..

Misc.

Jennifer - the 'no flour' as an eligible product was at the last Bake Off - held this past February - deadline for entering was October 1998. I don't think anyone knows what will be the qualifying products at the next Bake Off to be held in 2000. I think they did say it would be held in San Francisco (love that place!) and I would expect to see rules in May or June of '99. Personally, I think they've gone a little overboard on this 'quick' bit .... but they didn't ask me!

I believe there are several contests where you might be able to use flour and/or shortening. Did you check out QUAKER OATS? That is a 10/31 deadline. Also the 11/1 WOMAN'S DAY has the complete rules and blank for the bread contest it and Smuckers is sponsoring - about pg 152. I don't have the rules handy for COOKING LIGHT - HEALTHY CHOICE CHALLENGE (10/15) -- but maybe? There is a KELLOGG'S RECIPE CHALLENGE (11/1). Many of the BETTER HOMES & GARDENS monthly contests feature categories where flour can be used.

I think all of the above are mentioned in some of the postings on this message board. A good bet, is to subscribe to a cooking contest bulletin (I really like the one from Colorado best) -- as it gives a lot of up to date info. Granted, I only enter about 2 to 3 of every 15 or so contests. Wish I had time to do better -- but its nice to know about them.

Good luck ..... and keep at it.
