re: hand crank extruder pasta machine

I had a Simac pasta extrusion machine. It's an expensive, machine...supposedly the best. I ended up selling it as I was never happy with the texture of pasta I got from it. Then I bought an Atlas Marcato hand crank machine, and now I am absolutely spoiled! Nothing beats the taste or texture of the hand cranked pasta. If you are used to that, I suspect that you would never be happy with extruded pasta from a home machine. Just my opinion. Others may think differently.
