Re: Mitford Marmalade Cake

Misc.

Hi Sara,

In the July, 1998, issue of Victoria magazine, there is a recipe for this cake--kind of. Here is a quote from the magazine: "Everywhere Writer in Residence Jan Karon goes, she's besieged with requests for the Orange-Marmalade Layer Cake that stars in her best-selling Mitford novels. 'It's fiction,' laughs Jan. 'I love marmalade, I made it up.' Longing for a taste. we asked Southern chef Scott Peacock to bake up this and other prize winners from her Victoria short story."

Your library might have Victoria if you wanted this particular recipe. But, thought you might be interested in what Jan Karon had to say about the cake! Such a disappointment!
