What type of paint do you want to make? There are many paint recipes on the internet. Here are only a few I found.

Cornstarch Paint Recipe
1 tsp Vinegar
1 tsp. cornstarch
20 drops of desired Food Coloring
Mix vinegar, cornstarch, and coloring in baby food jar and shake to mix. Use paint brush and use like tempera paint.

HOMEMADE FINGER PAINTS

1 pot
2 cups flour
4 Tbsp salt
2 & 3/4 cup cold water
2 & 1/2 cup hot water
food colouring
freezer paper
In the pot, whisk together the flour, salt, and cold water until smooth.
Place the pot on the stove - medium heat. Slowly add the hot water, stirring all the time.
Keep stirring until the mixture boils and starts to thicken. Take the pot off the stove and beat with the whisk until smooth.
Once cool, pour the mixture into different storage containers. Add 4 to 8 drops of food colouring to each container. Mix.

HOMEMADE SOAP PAINT

1 cup soap flakes
1/2 cup cold water

Place cold water in a large bowl.
Turn on electric mixer or manual if you haven't got an electric mixer and mix until water starts to froth.
Slowly add soap flakes as you continue to mix.
Mix until mixture looks like stiff egg whites.
Add food colouring if desired.
Soap paint dries with a 3-D effect which the kids love.

HOMEMADE PUFF PAINT

flour
salt
hot water
liquid tempera paint

Place equal amounts of flour, salt, and hot water in a large bucket etc.
Mix until ingredients are dissolved. If you have difficulty dissolving apply a little heat.
Add liquid tempera paint until desired color is achieved.
Store mixture in air-tight squeezable bottles. (Empty glue bottles are excellent.)
Kids use squeeze bottles of paint to create raised images on paper, cardboard etc
Mixture dries hard and is raised like real puff paint.
