CHRISTMAS SOUR CREAM COOKIES
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp. baking soda
5 cups flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup shortening or butter, softened
3 eggs
1/2 tsp. lemon flavoring
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Lightly grease cookie sheets.
Combine sour cream and baking soda; set aside.
Combine flour, baking powder, and salt; set aide.
Mix together sugar, shortening, eggs, lemon flavoring, and vanilla. Alternately add sour cream mixture and flour mixture to make a soft dough.
Roll out on a well-floured board and cut in desired shapes.
Bake at 375 degrees F for 8-10 minutes. Decorate as desired.
