Scotch Smoked Salmon

Maybe someone can help me. I am interested in finding out what kind of wood is used to make Scotch Smoked Salmon. Is it: alder, pine, oak or cedar?

I can't seem to find any site on the internet that has the answer. Any help would be appreciated. I'll exchange any recipe that you may be looking for (if I have it at my disposal - I have over 140 cookbooks!)
