Recipe: Bavarian Sauerkraut (2)

BAVARIAN SAUERKRAUT

1 small can sauerkraut
1 small onion, chopped
1/2 can water
1 can tomato soup
1 lb. meat (ground beef)
1 c. cooked rice
salt and pepper to taste

Rinse and drain sauerkraut. Brown meat and onions. Mix all ingredients together. Pour into baking dish and bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.

BAVARIAN SAUERKRAUT

1 can (1 lb. 12 oz.)
sauerkraut, drained and rinsed
2 Tbsp. brown Sugar Twin
1 medium apple, chopped
1/2 c. chopped fresh mushrooms
1/4 c. water

Combine ingredients in a saucepan. Cover and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Yield: 6 servings, 34 calories per serving. This is excellent with hot dogs or polish sausage.
