ISO: Plum Cake from the New York Times

Misc.
I am trying to find a recipe for a plum cake or 'pflaumenkuchen' that was published at least twice in the NYTimes. If I remember correctly, it was a sort of 1-2-3 recipe... very simple white cake, very light, and the cake baked up nearly over the halved plums on top. I thought I'd kept the NYT page from the early 1990's, but I sure can't find it. Any help??? (It's not the plum torte that's been in the Times repeatedly. More German, and more cake-y) Thanks!!!! Mary
