Ya'll-- those southern green beans!!

Misc.

Had some just last week cooked with "ham scraps from the Christmas han".

David- life in rural WV was so much like mine growing up in Arkansas. In fact last week went to visit my Mom in Ark and took her a "mess" of snap beans, fresh tomatoes, squash, okra & cukes. We "ate like pigs".
It was a social event- from my Great Aunt snapping the beans while us youngins (45,46,50,69 yrs.) sat around the breakfast table drinking coffee- to dinner that evening. Lots of stories about the days when had the gardens.

It seemed that in Ark the corn you had to plant on Good Friday was always ready of 4th of July. So we spent the day picking, shucking, and "fixin" corn for the freezer while our friends were off at the river water skiing.
