Recipe: Pork Tournedos with Maple Jelly Sauce, Jed's Maple Jelly Sauce for Pork, Ideas for Using Maple Jelly

PORK TOURNEDOS WITH MAPLE JELLY SAUCE

4 (5 oz each) fresh pork tournedos
FOR THE MAPLE JELLY SAUCE:
1 red onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, chopped
1/4 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup chili sauce
3 Tbsp. maple jelly
1/2 cup mayonnaise

Preheat the BBQ to medium.

In a pan, mix all maple jelly sauce ingredients. Bring to a boil; remove from heat. Set aside.

Baste the tournedos; cook on the grill 5 minutes per side.

Pour the rest of the sauce onto a serving dish; place the tournedos on top.

OR, TO PAN FRY:
Baste pork tournedos with some of the Maple Jelly Sauce. In a hot frying pan, cook tournedos 5 minutes per side.

JED'S MAPLE JELLY SAUCE FOR PORK

An easy sauce for pork roast!

1 (2 1/2 lb.) pork roast
FOR THE SAUCE:
3/4 cup chicken broth,
2 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp Jed's Maple Jelly
1 tsp. Minced gingerroot (or ground ginger)
1 clove of garlic (minced)
1/2 tsp. chicken bouillon granules

Combine all ingredients for the sauce and pour over the pork roast.

Cook to 160 degrees on meat thermometer, basting occasionally.

If desired, combine 4 1/2 tsp. cornstarch with 4 1/2 tsp. cold water. Pour into 1 1/2 cups of pan juices (add more water, if necessary). Bring to a boil, cook and stir for 1-2 minutes

You can also use maple jelly as:

1. Flavoring in plain tea.
2. Spoon over pound cake, bundt cake, or ice cream.
3. Use as filling in a cake.
4. Topping for waffles, pancakes, etc.
