Recipe: Bean Potpourri (crockpot)

Main Dishes - Assorted
The stew you are describing sounds delicious. I looked at one of my mom's old crockpot books and did some searches online. This is the closest thing I could find:

BEAN POTPOURRI
Source: Rival's Crock-Pot Slow Cooker Cuisine; 1995
Servings: 8 to 10

2 1/2 cups water
2 cans (15 oz each) garbanzo beans, drained
1 (16 oz) can pinto beans, undrained
4 medium potatoes, peeled and diced
l onion, thinly sliced
1 pound cross-cut beef shank
1/2 pound smoked ham hocks
4 ounces Polish sausage or knockwurst, thinly sliced
3 slices bacon, fried and crumbled
1 teaspoon salt

Combine all ingredients in Crock-Pot; stir well.

Cover and cook on Low for 8 to 16 hours or on High for 4 to 6 hours.

Sounds great for Oktoberfest/Fall type meal.
Don't know if it's what you are looking for though...

Good luck!
