Recipe(tried): Chicken Mushroom Alfredo Sauce (creamy and not light) (repost)

Here is a recipe that is made with chicken broth. I actually got it here from another member. I doubled it, and it made just the right amount for one pound of pasta.

CHICKEN MUSHROOM ALFREDO SAUCE

1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup evaporated milk
4 teaspoons chicken broth
1/4 teaspoon minced garlic
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 chicken breasts, cooked, boned, and chopped
1 (8 ounce) can mushrooms, drained
1/4 cup Romano or Parmesan cheese
Hot cooked pasta

In a saucepan over low heat melt butter. Whisk in flour. Add milk, chicken broth, garlic, salt, and pepper. Cook over low heat until sauce thickens. Add chicken and mushrooms. Heat through. Stir in cheese. serve at once over pasta.

Serves 4 to 6
