Recipe: Spaghetti Lucullan (Heinz, 1967)

SPAGHETTI LUCULLAN

1 pound ground beef chuck
3/4 cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons shortening
1/3 cup chopped green bell pepper
3/4 cup Heinz Tomato Ketchup
1 (1 pound) can tomatoes
1/2 pound spaghetti, broken into 2-inch pieces
2 cups water
2 teaspoons salt

In large skillet or Dutch oven, brown beef and onion in shortening.

Add green pepper and remaining ingredients. Cover; simmer 25 minutes or until spaghetti is tender, stirring frequently.

Makes 6 servings (approximately 6 cups)
