Recipe(tried): Dinosaur Party Ideas

Years ago before all the dinosaur items were available my son wanted a dinosaur birthday party. I enlarged a picture of his favorite dinosaur and placed it on top of a large sheet cake and cut int in the shape of. Decorated it to look like the picture.

For a game, we had put little plastic dinosaurs in colored plastic Easter eggs and had a dinosaur egg hunt.

We made our own hats using much the same pattern as I had used for the cake. I had head bands made of heavy poster board and we stapled the two dinosaurs onto it and together at the top.

At each place I put a berry basket with Easter grass and a big plastic egg (I used the ones from hose then; now you would probably have to buy at craft store) On the egg, I wrote the child's name plus osaur. (ie Maryosaurs). In the egg I put little stuff relating to dinos. I had found some puzzles, etc. I also had enlarged a big one and we played pin the horn on the dino. As I said this was about 14 years ago when there was not as much stuff available as there is now.

Do you have the recipe for dinosaur food? I posted that a while back somewhere on one of the boards? It is basically your uncooked drop chocolate cookies using different names for the ingredients, such as swamp water for milk, etc. If you want it , I will post it. We made those and on a cut out dinosaur, each child took home the recipe. One little girl wouldn't eat it because she didn't like the names of it!

If I recall correctly the egg hunt was just about their favorite but kids always seem to like that. Now I have seen dinosaur piantas that would be fun. Hope this is helpful to out.
