Recipe(tried): Gardening Bougainvillea

Tips and Tricks - Cooking
ALTHOUGH I HAVE HAD SUCCESS WITH BOUGAINVILLEA "CUTTINGS" I HAVE ALWAYS FOUND THAT IT HAS BEEN NECESSARY TO PLANT ABOUT 10 CUTTINGS (MAYBE A FEW WILL "TAKE"). THE CUTTINGS SHOULD BE WOODY WITH A COUPLE OF NODULES READY TO START TO "LEAF". CUTTINGS SHOULD NOT BE MORE THAN A FOOT IN LENGTH SO THAT ABOUT 4"\5" CAN BE PLANTED IN THE SOIL IN CONTAINERS. THEY DO LIKE SUNSHINE. TEMPERATURES AROUND 60 DEG. UPWARDS. I WOULD SUGGEST TO TAKE THE CUTTINGS IN EARLY SPRING. HOPE THIS HELPS, ALTHOUGH BOUGAINVILLEA ARE NOT THE EASIEST TO PROPOGATE AND TAKE AGES BEFORE THEY MAINTAIN A STRONG ROOT SYSTEM - WAIT UNTIL THE FOLLOWING YEAR AT LEAST BEFORE TRANSPLANTING THEM IN THE GARDEN.
