Recipe: Elegant Grapes (rolled in cream cheese-blue cheese mixture and toasted nuts)
Appetizers and SnacksELEGANT GRAPES
2 1/2 cups pecan or walnut halves (or chopped cashews)
1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese, softened to room temperature
5 oz. Camembert or Roquefort (or any blue-type cheese)
1 tbsp. cream (or milk)
1 lb. red or green seedless grapes
Spread pecans or walnuts (the cashews do not have to be toasted) on a baking sheet.
Bake at 300 degrees F for 15 minutes or until toasted and just lightly browned. Watch carefully so they do not burn. Remove from oven and turn out on a plate to cool. Chop nuts coarsely. Set aside.
Beat cream cheese and Camembert, or your choice of blue cheese, and cream in mixing bowl until smooth.
Spread or coat grapes with cheese mixture and gently shape into a ball. Place on plate and chill for a few minutes to "set" cheese. (They will look neater when you roll them in the nuts).
Roll in toasted nuts and place on waxed paper-lined plate. Cover and return to refrigerator to chill.
These can be made 24 hours in advance.
