Recipe(tried): Garlic-Gruyere Mashed Potatoes and Supreme Garlic Mashed Potatoes

Hi verla, I am honored that you have asked me for a good recipe for mashed potatoes...you have awesome recipes!! Here are several I tried at home with success. Good Luck and enjoy!!

GARLIC-GRUYERE MASHED POTATOES

6 medium-size russet potatoes
3/5 cup hot whole milk
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup chopped fresh chives
1/4 cup butter, softened
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1 garlic clove, minced
1/4 cup grated Gruyere cheese
2 scallions, chopped
1/4 tsp. ground white pepper

Peel the potatoes and cut up. Cook in boiling water til tender. Drain.

Mash the potatoes and stir in the milk, butter, sour cream and the rest of the ingredients. Serve at once.

SUPREME GARLIC MASHED POTATOES

6 to 8 potatoes, washed, peeled and cubed
3 garlic cloves, peeled
1 stick (1/2 cup) butter
1/2 cup sour cream
Salt and pepper, to taste
1/4 cup milk (or more, if needed)

Boil potatoes and the garlic cloves together.

When tender, mash with potato masher, add butter and mash some more, add sour cream and enough of milk to your liking for consistency. Season with salt and pepper.
