GOOEY BUTTER CHESS CAKE
1 (2-layer size) box yellow butter cake mix
4 eggs, divided use
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 cup cooked grits
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (16 ounce) package powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Combine (dry) cake mix, 2 eggs, melted butter and grits in large mixing bowl. Beat thoroughly. Spread mixture in a well-greased 9x13 inch baking pan.
Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, remaining 2 eggs and vanilla together until smooth and creamy. Pour over cake batter in pan.
Bake for 35-45 minutes. Cool and cut into bars. Topping will be gooey.
Makes 1 (13x9-inch) cake, 24-36 servings
