HOT MILK CAKE FROM 1935
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon butter
2 eggs
1 cup sugar
1 cup flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
pinch of salt
1 teaspoon vanilla
In saucepan, heat on stove 1/2 cup of milk and 1 tablespoon butter.
In a mixing bowl, beat eggs with sugar. Stir in flour, sifted with baking powder and a pinch of salt. Add the hot milk and butter and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Pour into cake pan.
Bake in a moderate oven (350 degrees F) about 45 minutes.
