Indonesian Beef
Recipe By : Donna Darby about '63

2 1/2 pounds round roast, trimmed -- cut in 1/3" strips
1/3 cup flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/4 cup raisins
1/4 cup onions -- chopped
3 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt
2 teaspoons curry powder
1/2 cup chutney
1 cup tomatoes, canned
2 cubes beef bouillon
14 ounces water

Dredge steak in flour, salt and pepper. In a large skillet or Dutch oven, brown meat in hot oil. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 2-3 hours, stirring occassionally and adding more water if necessary to prevent sticking.

Serve on rice with condiments: coconut, peanuts, chutney, raisins, scallions, bacon.
