Recipe(tried): JUNE... Pasta Fagioli (Beans & Macaroni)

Misc.

Hi June, Just read your post regarding Pasta Fagioli. This is my Mom's family
recipe. Sounds like what you are looking for. Hope this helps.

PASTA FAGIOLI - BEANS AND MACARONI
1 Lb. Great Northern Beans
4 qts. water
1 cup olive oil
3 TBS. minced garlic
3 TBS. tomato paste
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. dried basil
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/2 lb Ditalini or Shell macaroni
Parmesan Cheese
Cook beans after bringing to boil for a couple of minutes; add olive oil,
garlic, basil, tomato paste, and oregano. Cook for about 1 1/2 hours. Check for
doneness;add water as necessary. When beans are done, add cooked macaroni.
Serve with a generous amount of Parmesan Cheese sprinkled on top.
This makes a hearty main meal. (I use more garlic than recipe calls for, as
we love garlic)
