Recipe: Orange Cranberry Sherbet (ice cream maker)

ORANGE CRANBERRY SHERBET

2 cups sugar
1 (.25 oz.) envelope unflavored gelatin
2 tsp grated orange peel
3 cups milk
2 cups fresh or frozen whole cranberries, thawed
1 cup orange juice

In a medium saucepan, combine sugar, gelatin and orange peel. Stir in milk. Stir over low heat until sugar and gelatin dissolve; set aside.

In a blender or food processor with metal blade, puree cranberries and orange juice. Stir into milk mixture until blended. Pour into ice cream canister and freeze in ice cream maker according to manufacturer's directions.

Yield: 2 quarts
