Recipe(tried): Rice Krispie Treats with Variations

Misc.
RICE KRISPIE TREATS

3 Tbs. margarine
4 c. miniature marshmallows, or about 40 large marshmallows
6 c. Rice Krispies

Melt margarine in large saucepan over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir
until completely melted. Remove from heat and add the rice krisipies. Put mixture into a buttered 9x13 inch baking pan. Cut into squares when cool.

For a variety, I have added 1-2 Tbs. peanut butter to the marshmallow mixture just before the marshmallows are completely melted.

Also, I have tried stirring in some milk-chocolate mini-chips along with the rice krispies. I think that you could use butterscotch or peanut butter chips as well.
Another way is to put a little cocoa powder into the marshmallow mixture just as it is almost completely melted. Or, you could use the above recipe and substitute
cocoa krispies instead of rice krispies--making chocolate krispie treats.
I
am sure you can think of even more variations.
Enjoy!!
