Recipe(tried): Sesame Chicken Salad (Pon Pon Chicken)- I'm ba-ack with a recipe for Brig-Ontario
Main Dishes - Chicken, PoultrySorry I have been off-line for so long. I have been very, very sick with a nasty flu that's been going around Tracy for the past month or so. Fortunately, I can't pass this on via the internet!
Here's a new one for you, Brig!
SESAME CHICKEN SALAD (PON PON CHICKEN)
2 cups steamed, boiled or gently simmered chicken, shredded
lettuce leaves to cover platter
1 tablespoon chopped scallion
1 teaspoon or more chopped garlic
1 1/2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh ginger
3 tablespoons welll-stirred sesame paste (Tahini, available in Asian grocery stores or in the Asian food aisle of large supermarkets)
1 1/2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
1 tablespoon white vinegar, preferably rice vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon MSG (optional)
salt to taste
1 tablespoon chili paste with garlic
1 tablespoon sesame oil
Place the chicken on the lettuce leaves, arranged on a serving dish.
Blend the remaining ingredients and pour the sauce over the chicken.
(Note: I have made this with shredded head lettuce and tossed the whole thing together and it worked great.)
