Recipe: Snickers Bars (copycat recipe, using marshmallow cream, peanuts and caramels)

SNICKERS BARS

2 cups chocolate chips, divided use
1/2 cup butterscotch chips, divided use
3/4 cup creamy peanut butter, divided use
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup margarine
1 cup marshmallow creme
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups dry-roasted peanuts
40 caramels
4 tablespoons hot water

Melt and spread 1 cup chocolate chips, 1/4 cup butterscotch chips, and 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter in buttered 9x13-inch pan. Cool.

Boil sugar, milk, and margarine for 5 minutes to soft ball stage. Add marshmallow creme, 1/4 cup peanut butter, and vanilla. Pour over first layer. Sprinkle peanuts over second layer.

Melt together caramels and 4 tablespoons hot water, and pour over peanuts.

Melt 1 cup chocolate chips, 1/4 cup butterscotch chips, and 1/4 cup creamy peanut butter and spread over caramel layer remaining.

Cool and cut into squares.

Makes 8 servings
