Recipe: Sunny Chocolate Chip Cookies (using sesame and sunflower seeds)

1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup white granulated sugar
3/4 cup light brown sugar, firmly packed
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 (12 oz.) pkg. semisweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup salted sunflower seed kernels
1/4 cup sesame seeds
Combine flours, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
Cream butter; gradually add the sugars, beating until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla, and beat well. Add dry ingredients to creamed mixture, and beat well.
Stir in chocolate chips, sunflower seeds and sesame seeds. Drop dough by teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased baking sheets.
Bake at 375 degrees F for 8-10 minutes. Cool slightly on baking sheets before removing to wire racks to cool completely.
Makes 5 dozen cookies
