This is how I make syrup when I have none.
Hot Maple Syrup: Combine 1 cup light corn syrup, 1/2 cup brown sugar, and 1/2 cup wter; cook, stirring till sugar dissolves. Add few drops maple flavoring and 1 tablespoon butter or margarine. Serve hot
