Recipe(tried): Terri(y) Ohio - Here's Sweet and Sour Chicken Ball recipe.

Misc.

I got this from a cook in a restaurant, but I haven't made it in a long while.
You can substitute pork for the chicken if you want.

Chicken Balls - 2 lbs raw boneless chicken cut into bite sized pieces. (I remember using breast meat)

2 cup flour 1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 tbsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt 4 eggs
1 cup milk
Keep meat separate for a minute. Mix other ingredients together well, if too heavy, more milk can be added. Dip meat in batter and drop into hot oil (350-360 degrees or so) and fry about 5 minutes or so until golden. Keep warm in oven till all of it has been cooked.

Sweet and Sour Sauce
1 cup vinegar 1 tsp. red food colouring
1 cup tomato juice 4 Tbsp. corn starch
2 cup water 1 lemon
1 cup white sugar 1/2 tsp. ginger

Mix all ingredients together with the exception of lemon and corn starch, in a sauce pan. Cut lemon in half, squeeze one half in the pan, cut the remaining half and put in pan with the liquid. Bring to a boil, then simmer for one hour. Dissolve corn starch in 1/2 cup cold water, pour into boiling mixture, stirring constantly. Boil three minutes. This sauce may be stored in fridge when cooled and heat the required amount as needed. If you didn't have a lemon you could probably use lemon juice.
