ISO: Fishcake

Looking for a recipe that was printed in the Boston Globe or Herald back in late 1980 early 1981 for fish cake. It was for a japanese style of fishcake, not the homey type made with mashed potatoes. The fish was made into a paste and shaped then dipped in a tempura like batter and fried. I think it had soy sauce, ginger, sherry and sesame oil. Anything similar would be appreciated. I already tried the Boston Globe food site but no such luck in finding this recipe. Its getting tougher and tougher to find decent fish cake at asian markets, seems more and more fillers are being added and less and less fish.
Thank you,
Kim
