ISO: French Onion Soup

Does anyone have a wonderful recipe for French Onion Soup? I've done a search
here on TKL and I didn't find one that quite "fit the bill." I've had this
soup at restaurants and it is always delicious. Now that I'm feeling better I
thought that I would make this soup as a surprise for my daughter and husband.
