ISO: Italian deep-fried cookies (Nagatiles?) with Sambuca or anisette

Misc.
Merry Christmas to everyone!
I'm looking for an Italian (or possibly Greek) cookie recipe for (forgive my spelling and translation) Nagatiles. I remember my aunt making a fairly stiff dough with anisette or Sambuca as an ingredient, that was rolled into a snake form. About 12 inches was pinched off, then wrapped around the thin end of the wooden spoon handle, and deep fried to a deep golden brown. The resulting cookies were hard, but oh so tasty!
Any help regarding the name, recipe, variation, etc?
Thanks all!
Jules
