ISO: None such mincemeat cookies - question

Can I use the original 27oz. jar of mincemeat in the recipe that call for the 9oz.pkg.,only using 9oz of ing.?
Years ago I made a mincemeat cookie made from the original jar and it was just like the one that calls for the 9oz. box. I would like to use the 27oz. jar before the exp. date. Thank you Violet Stringer
