ISO: pickled banana peppers

I read a recipe on this board for pickled banana peppers and it said that they didn't need to be processed.......is this true? I have some banana peppers that I want to pickle, but have never done it before and I don't want to mess up. If they don't have to be processed, then is it ok to just seal them with my foodsaver jar sealer?
