ISO: Shuckey Beans or Leather Britches

Misc.
Am searching for a recipe and drying instructions for leather britches like my Nanny made while I was young! I loved them! I am also looking for garlicy tasting crispy dill pickle recipes for me to pickle my own cucumbers as well! I do remember drying the beans on white cotton thread hanging from hooks on the porch but that is about all! I am trying to preserve food myself and even will have apples to make apple butter out of and can't find the recipe for it either as my Mom has lost Nanny's cookbooks. Any and all help would be grateful! Anita
