ISO: Sweet, Hot Stewed Tomatoes

I am looking for what I think is an old, Southern recipe for sweet, hot, stewed tomatoes. When I visit my daughter in Atlanta we visit our favorite restaurant of authentic southern cooking and these tomatoes are served as a garnish for fried, green tomatoes. My garden is ending up and I would LOVE to can some of them. HELP!!!! Thanks, HJM
