A few recipes for Mary.

Misc.
Dear Mary: Mr. Claiborne is my hero. I searched in his books for the exact recipe you are asking for. Here is what I found together with the Bibliography. Let me know what recipes you are interested in & I will copy them for you!

REVISED EDITION, THE NEW YORK TIMES COOK BOOK, Harper & Row, 1990.

Macaroni and beans (pasta e fagioli) P. 503
Macaroni & beef casserole P.504
Macaroni & lentil soup, P.79

CRAIG CLAIBORNE'S FAVORITES FROM THE NEW YORK TIMES, Times Books, Volume 1, 1975.
Macaroni Casserole with beef, p. 43

CRAIG CLAIBORNE'S FAVORITES FROM THE NEW YORK TIMES, Times Books, Volume 2, 1976.
Macaroni Casserole with Beef,P. 43 (the same page number is a coincidence)

CRAIG CLAIBORNE'S FAVORITES FROM THE NEW YORK TIMES, Times Books, Volume 3, 1977.
(no macaroni recipe is included)

CRAIG CLAIBORNE'S FAVORITES FROM THE NEW YORK TIMES, Times Books, Volume 4, 1978.
(no macaroni recipe is included).

By the way, maybe you were referring to another great master, Mr. James Bears, author of BEARD ON PASTA, Alfred A. Knopf, New York, 1983. His recipe for Macaroni & Cheese (P.156) is one of the, or THE BEST, I had ever seen.

Just let me know the recipes you are interested in & I will gladly copy them for you.
