How about SALTON?
Misc. Perhaps you mean Salton? I just purchased one. I'm not too happy with it. The instructions are poor and it is somewhat difficult to clean.
The steamer instructions are non-existent. I steamed veggies while the rice was cooking on my first try only to find out that the rice is to steam 15 more minutes AFTER the cooking light clicks off. Phhhht.
The rice sticks to the bottom so much so that about a quarter cup is wasted each time. There's no prying it off the bottom. It requires a good hot soak, several water changes and some soap and a soft sponge to clean thoroughly.
That said, it does make better rice than I do in the pot. I add more water to get the brown rice to open up. The directions state that cooking in broths or liquids other than water are NOT recommended. I assume that is due to the possible reaction under heat with the alumnium.
I do wish I read this first. It was a decent investment for $20. I purchased it on a whim at that fancy department store -- Target.
