Terry,
As a former teacher, I have encountered a similar situation and instead of baking cookies, we decorated them instead. The kids had a blast. I've read The Gingerbread Man and then we decorated Gingerbread men. The kids had so much fun and were very proud of their delicious creations. Just an idea! Sometimes you have to get very creative in the classroom and around young children. Ice Cream in a baggie is also a fun thing for kids to do and it requires no cooking either.
