Jasmine rice is NOT a sticky rice!!!

I am sorry to point out that Jasmine ISN'T a sweet rice. It's just a long grain rice that has Jasmine flavor! It's more fragrant and beyond that, it's just a normal cooking long grain rice. And sticky rice ISN'T the Japanese shushi rice, either!!! Japanese sushi rice is a "SHORT GRAIN" rice, thus it is a bit more sticky (need less water) than the normal Aisan rice you get in the restaurants in the west. (In the Far East countries such as Korea, Japan, Taiwan, etc., you eat the short/medium grain rice daily. But for the Southeastern coutries such as Thailand, Malaysia and so on, the long grain rice is prefered.) The real "STICY RICE" is the "GLUTINOUS RICE". It comes 2 varieties: round/short grain or long/sharp (pointed) grain. It is usually used for "dessert" dishes such as the "8-treasure-rice" or sticky rice with mango" and etc. The "sticky rice" in the west is mostly imported from Thailand.
