large ornament ideas

when we lived in pa. a neighbor had the cutest ornaments outside. they had gingerbread men made out of styrofoam used in house insulation found at home depot or lowes. you cut your pattern out and paint them chocolate brown and mabye use the zig zag rick rack (or what ever you call it and buttons etc. they covered theirs with plastic and hung them outside but i have a suggestion maybe paint with aleens patio paints and if it doesn't melt the styrofoam should weather proof them.
