Leaking Aluminum Foil

I noticed a few years ago that I find little flakes of foil in food if the food
that I have covered is acidic - such as a lasagna, any dish with tomato sauce
really, and others also. Sometimes I'm ahead of it and other times I'm
surprised by what "leaks" the foil. But, what I have noticed, with my bran
anyhow, is that it only leaks onto acidic food.

So, if I realize ahead of time, what I do is cover the dish first with plastic
wrap and then with foil. The plastic prevents the foil from coming in contact
with the food and also prevents the "leaking." Hope this is of some help to you.
