make ahead appetizers and deserts

Request.
My husband has decided on a big holiday party! We will be away until two days before. Can anyone help with easy, not too expensive make ahead/freezable recipes for appetizers and desserts? I will use the buffet format, and have a large ham (so accompaniements would also be good.) Thanks everyone for your help!
