Recipe(tried): Sourdough French Bread for Welbilt - Am working on conversion--almost there

Breads - Bread Machine
I tried my second sourdough loaf today. (The chickens got the first one.) I killed my bread machine with the instructions and am still working out the kinks with the $1 machine I got at a farm auction, but. . . I added 1 cup of my sourdough starter to a french bread recipe from my old machine. I reduced the water from 1 cup to 1/2 cup. I had to add yeast because this Welbilt won't "proof" the sourdough. If your machine will grow the starter or if you grow the starter before you add the salt and oil and additional flour, you won't need yeast. Judging from todays bread, if you want to use yeast, use only half as much as for a regular loaf of french bread. (The chickens don't get to eat my second attempt!)
