Micro/convection oven????

Misc.
I have been wanting to get a micro/convection oven but am confused on how
they work. I have a toaster oven that I used to use alot to heat up small
quantities of food for the kids such as fish sticks, chicken etc. I had to
use the toaster oven so they would get brown, in the micro they get mushy.
But is is such a pain to get out every time I want to use it that I find
myself heating up the big oven for these jobs ans with summer coming I would
rather not. So I guess my question is would a convection oven brown things
when it cooks or does it just heat things up like a microwave? I don't have
the room to leave out the toaster oven so I thought I could use the space
where my micro is and kill two birds with one stone. Thanks for any insight.
