re: canned pie filling with crusts

I am not totally sure about this pie thing, but there are a lot of food things on the market that are unsafe, like the cake in the jar thing, especially at bazaars, even though they may have a license to sell them. Depends upon who is doing this commercially. Is this a small company operation? I would have to be sure that they indeed had the proper preservatives, etc. before I would buy one. My personal opinion, I probably wouldn't risk it.
