Re: George Foreman Grill

Misc.

I too bought the jumbo grill ($85) but it is well worth it. With a family of 5, I use it normally 2-3 times a day. Things I have used it for: Bacon, Sausage, Hamburgers, Hot Dogs, Steaks, Shrimp, Fish fillets, Potatoes, Chicken breasts, hot sandwiches (especially with homemade bread or Texas Toast), boneless Pork Chops. The best part of it is all the grease comes rolling down into the little tray in front and the food cooks so quickly, it seals in the juices. Juiciest chicken breasts I have ever had. I especially like it for preparing cooked chicken to add to other recipes, takes only 2-3 minutes to cook. While it cools a little, I mix up whatever the recipe is, chop the chicken and add in. I used to hate cooking the chicken forever before you could even start the rest of the recipe. I'm not particularly fond of cooking items with bones in the grill, the bones keep the rest of the meat from cooking evenly. Hint on beef - hamburgers especially - after cooking for about 1 minute, I slide a knife blade into each burger, flip and press down a little to allow excess juice to flow out. The meat cooks so quick, all the juice is trapped inside if you don't do this - and when you take a bite, you get soaked with all the juice. The $59 model would probably be perfect size for two, but if you have 3 or more in your family - or have company alot to eat - you will probably want the jumbo size. Happy Cooking. Janet.
