re. Nagasaki Kasutera
Misc. Hi Yosh,
Eggy forwarded me your post since I haven't been to this site for more than a year. BTW, my earlier post appeared in Dec. 2000, NOT 2002 -- that would be impossible! ;)
As Eggy mentioned, I made a huge move out of NYC and my stuff is still in transit. It would be a couple of months before I get access to my books. Since you live in L.A. and your name is "yosh", I'm assuming that you have some knowledge of Japan and Japanese. I would suggest that you get yourself out to Kinokuniya or Asahiya bookstores and pick up a wagashi cookbook if you need the recipe right away. Otherwise, you would have to wait another 8 weeks (or longer) for me to get my hands on my books (and that's after finding a new place and unpacking, etc.).
Eggy and Susan are wonderful chefs and extremely knowledgeable -- why don't you try their recipes for the time being if you don't want to spend money on wagashi cookbooks?
